Supplements and Vitamins
I am currently trying to build muscle as it makes your metabolism work faster and burns more calories at rest. I’m also keeping in mind that I’m getting older and need to develop more healthy habits. Muscles as you age tend to lose size and strength so it’s important to try to do weights on a regular basis. Not only this, but your bones actually become more brittle as you age so having strong muscles helps to protect your bones.
I also want to keep my heart healthy. This is also important as we age. Resistance training is not as wearing on the heart as other high intensity cardio. I’ve had to become aware that my body can’t do the same level of intensity that I could when I was younger. This doesn’t mean you still can’t get a good workout. It just may a take a little longer to get results.
Supplements
Currently I make a drink for myself every weights workout with the following supplements added:
Super Carb (Orange/Mango)
Essential Amino Acids (Peach/Mango)
Creatine Monohydrate
Vitamins
Currently I take the following vitamins every day:
Krill Oil
Vitamin C
A multivitamin
Benfotiamine (helps support healthy glucose metabolism)
Biotin
